Godfrey's thoroughwort is a slender, upright perennial reaching 2 to 4 feet tall. A specialist of upland habitats, it thrives in part to full sun and prefers dry to mesic soils, making it much more drought tolerant than its wetland cousins. In the modern landscape, it serves as a critical late season nectar hub for monarchs, skippers, and native bees, it is a known host plant for the larvae of the Boneset Borer Moth.
